Eat Chef George
Chef George Levendis

Above all, George is a life enthusiast. His love for travel and immersion in various cultures and food, has landed him here on the lush garden island of Kauai.  Chef George's love for food began many years ago while sitting on a stool in his Mother's kitchen, watching her prepare rustic farm foods she learned from her Mother and Grandmother while growing up in Greece. The young chef helped with different tasks in the kitchen, appreciating fresh and organic foods from the farm despite growing up a New Yorker.  Believing in  his talented cooking abilities and unique artistic flair, he became an entrepeunour, first with private catering, than expanded into a Food Truck, called "Chef George Of Da Jungle"

"Food is intimate. There is an energetic transfer from me into what I am creating. My love, my soul goes into this food. You eat and enjoy it. It is important for me to be filled with joy and happiness as much as I am filled with creativity and skills. Happy chef, happy food, happy and healthy you." - Chef George Levendis

At age 13 he acquired his first "food-service" industry job at a local deli and bakery. By the age of 16 he was working in the front of the house at Greek restaurants, but he longed to be in the kitchen. At high school level, he enrolled in a culinary program at "Boces William Tech". At college level he enrolled in the culinary program at New York Institute of Technology. While attending college George took a position as a line cook at Marriot Hotel, learning baquet & catering style cooking. It was not long before he moved into a management position, at age of 19, he became as Sous Chef at the "Blue Honu" restaurant in Huntington Village NY. By age 21, Chef George was promoted to Executive Chef. He received a New York Times review of 2 stars (out of 3), and a "Very Good" review from Newsday (see attachments below). His career escalated from there. He learned fine Italian cuisine at "Butteras" restaurant, and American-Bistro at "Ivarones Prime View" restaurant.

After many years of continued success, Chef George had an epiphany.. He packed up his knifes, said farewell to his beloved Long Island & started traveling the world. Living in other countries and experiencing cooking from the Grandmothers of different cultures has enabled him to expand far beyond the daily experience of a Chef. He has opened his heart and shared meals with many, learning their traditions & secrets, also sharing some of his own. He prides himself in hosting these heartfelt, home cooked, happy, and joyful times to you and your special moments.

Currently, George resides on Kauai in the Hawaiian Islands. He goes by the alias of "Chef George Of Da Jungle" , which is the name of his food truck business, located off the banks of the Wailua River at the Kamokila Hawaiian Village, in Kapaa. In addition to that, he continues to offer his private chef services. You may be hosting a private party, celebrating a wedding, or arranging a romantic dinner for two, whatever the need, Chef George can create and accomodate your dream dining vision. Imagine a tailor made menu highlighting local and organic fare tantalizing your tastebuds in the comfort of your home, vacation rental or selected venue with no stress or worries!
